- How do I get documents from WhatsApp or email into DueOwl?
- In WhatsApp, Mail or the Files app, press and hold the document (or open it), tap Share and choose DueOwl. DueOwl reads the dates and details on your iPhone and shows them for you to check before you save. Paper letters can be scanned with the camera inside the app.

Without Pro you keep everything you added: you can still view, search, send and export it all, and your reminders keep working; adding new items needs Pro.
- Does my partner need to pay for DueOwl too?
- No. DueOwl Pro is per household: when one partner subscribes, the other gets Pro through the shared household automatically.
- Where does DueOwl store my documents?
- In your own iCloud (Apple CloudKit). Documents are read on your device and never reach DueOwl. The app only sends anonymous usage counts — no names, amounts or files — which you can turn off in Settings. You can export everything as a ZIP at any time.
- Which devices does DueOwl work on?
- iPhone, on iOS 17 or later, from the UK App Store. There is no Android or web version; the iPhone app also runs on iPad and Apple Silicon Macs in compatibility mode.
- What kinds of documents and renewals does DueOwl handle?
- Any family document, with or without a date: car and home insurance, MOT certificates, the V5C logbook, passports and driving licences, council tax and TV Licence letters, energy and broadband contracts, mortgage offers, pet insurance and vaccination records, warranties, school letters and subscriptions. Anything with a renewal or expiry date gets reminders sized to it.
- Can I use DueOwl for a small business as well as home?
- Yes. Every item and asset can be tagged Personal or Business, and documents, Family & Assets and Spending can be filtered by either or shown together. Business templates cover public liability and equipment insurance, domain and hosting, software, accounting and licences or permits. It suits sole traders and very small businesses, not fleets or multi-property portfolios.
- How is DueOwl different from a Files folder or a calendar?
- A folder holds files but won’t read them, remind you or put them on your partner’s phone; a calendar holds the date but not the document.
